Earlier this week I realised that I have been so busy with business, treatments and and family that I’ve forgotten to fill my own cup first.
I needed some timeout. I’ve feel like I’ve been chasing my tail for the last few weeks, actually I’ve been chasing my tail since the new year! I haven’t given myself the time to reset and plan for the year ahead.
As I write this, I’m meant to be with my softball team playing a game. I finished work at 12.30pm on Saturday and our game started at 1.10pm. This wasn’t enough time for me to pack up my massage room, change clothes, travel to Hawker and warm up.
Now because I wasn’t going to make it in time for a warm up, and to prevent a possible injury (from not warming up), I decided to have this time out instead. I have a small list of things I want to get finished and time for a movie at home too.
To me, this is self care. Taking the time I need for me.
So, what is self care for you?
It can be watching a movie, visiting a friend or trying a new cocktail. There are so many things you can choose to do, but it’s individual to you.
Self care is doing your favourite activities, doing something you love! Here are some more self care ideas:
1. Have a massage!
2. Read a book or a magazine
3. Walk in nature
5. Sleep in on the weekend
6. Watch the clouds
7. Unplug from social media
8. Colour in, draw, or paint
9. Do yoga
12. Listen to music
14. Spend quality time with a loved one
15. Look at the stars
17. Create a vision board
